Health Care Waivers – BS

on 10 8, 2010

This is the sad state of our political country.   A month before elections McDonald’s and 29 other firms get health care coverage waivers.  So if you are a big company and you employ a  ton of people, and you threaten to drop their health coverage because you don’t want to pay what our great country has mandated you pay for health care, then we will give you a waiver.

I am disgusted on two fronts:

1)that our country, in 2014 will mandate that every person have healthcare coverage.  There is no where in our Constitution that allows the federal government force you to buy something.

2)that our government allows big corporations to rule this country.  Laws should apply to the big and small companies, no matter how many people you employ.  Why should Mcdonald’s get a break, but the company that is not big enough to threaten the coverage drop to 30k employees gets nothing.

I am all for health care coverage for all, but to throw this law out there without addressing any of the costs that are driving health care higher is just pathetic.  To say this is health care reform is a complete joke.  It is only going to increase the costs for every person who pays for their health care.
